Yamamoto Shoun studied chinese painting with Taki Watei, and after that he become an illustrator, using the name Shokoku in a Tokio journal. His greatest activity being between 1890 and 1920 and during his life he exhibited regularly in the Bunten and Teiten art show. The artist is well-known for the series of beautiful women, as “Fashions of today”,and for the series of landscapes and flowers.
